Custom Inlays

Inlaying contrasting hardwoods, to create decorative patterns, is an ancient craft which, until recently had become so expensive that only the super-wealthy could afford it. Now by combining craftsmanship with modern technology Raincoast is able to offer custom inlayed doors and panels at an affordable price.

Each pattern is designed to order, there is nothing "stock" about these doorls.

Here we have inlayed purple heart in maple to form a design that carries throughout the kitchen.

The variables are many - here we have done the inlay in the cross rail. Inlays can vary in size and quantity to achieve the look your after.

The inside frame profile is laminated with purple heart as an accent. This can be done with any wood of choice. This is not an after applied moulding - it is actually part of the frame.

One to four square or round pegs per corner can add a distinctive look. Light colored pegs on dark frames or dark pegs on light colored frames can look very dramatic.

The design in this door is a double inlay of purple heart in the center panel. This style of inlay can focus on "corners" where the vertical line is brought down through and to the lower cabinets and across the bottom and the top to the other side.
